Fortnite 101
-
Fortnite is a third-person shooter game with multiple Game Modes; Fortnite Battle Royale, Fortnite: Save the World, Fortnite Creative, Lego Fortnite, Rocket Racing, and Fortnite Festival.
- Within Fortnite Creative, players using Unreal Editor for Fortnite (UEFN) are given complete freedom to spawn any item from other game modes on a personal island and can create games such as battle arenas, box fights, race courses, platforming challenges, and more.
- Zone Wars is a minigame within Fortnite where players are enclosed in an arena with each other where they must fight it out.
- Within the arena, players must navigate within a small zone that is shrinking and moving around the map.
- Players must outlast all the members of the opposing teams by utilizing their loadouts, building structures, and communication with their teammate(s).
Mechanics
Here are some basic strategies for Zone Wars to get started with:
-
Choose a loadout
- Prefer to play from a distance? Choose a long-range weapon. If you want to play close to your opponents then go for a close-range weapon.
-
Defending & Shielding
- Each loadout equips players with shield potions. Make sure you are in a safe location before applying the potion. You can also use structures to create barriers between you and your opponents.
-
Use high ground
- Get the high ground and use it to your advantage.
-
Utilize Structures
- Control and editing of structures allows you to create openings for attacks or for escaping danger. Try boxing in opponents to force advantageous skirmishes for you and your teammate(s).
