2. Tournament Rules

2.1. Anti-Cheat

Chess.com utilizes a computer system which passively scans all rated games (including HSEL/MSEL matches) for fair play. If a player is playing too similarly to a computer engine, their account will be closed. This process is not immediate but generally takes place within 2-4 days.

If you suspect your opponent has cheated, please contact our support team via the live chat widget found in the lower right of our website and provide the following:

  • The match link on chess.com
  • Identify specific suspicious moves and accuracy ratings

Once the above information is provided, HSEL Admins will forward the report to the chess.com Fair Play Team for manual review. If a chess account is closed, Chess.com is under no obligation to disclose any information surrounding why they made the decision.

3. Stoppage of Play

If a player were to disconnect from the match at any time they will be issued a forfeit for that round. If a player is unable to play all the required rounds for whatever reason, they will forfeit the remaining rounds.

4. Organization Rosters

Only one roster is required for all Chess players on a school organization. Each player on the roster will be seen as their own individual participant and will be given their own match when they queue at their chosen time.
