WHEN DOES THE SEASON START?

Below, you will find the key dates for the NJCAAE Fall 2021 Tournament.

  • Registration: 6/28/21 - 8/15/21 
  • Pre-season: 8/16/21 - 8/27/21
  • Season: 8/30/21 - 11/5/21
  • Playoffs: 11/8/21 - 11/19/21
  • Championships: 11/29-21 - 12/5/21

WHO CAN PLAY AND HOW DO I GET STARTED?

This is a tournament open to teams of students from partnered Junior Colleges with the NJCAAE organization.  Coaches from the schools will apply to join the NJCAAE Community on the Generation Esports platform to start the registration process for the NJCAAE Fall 2021 Tournament.  

 

WHEN DO WE PLAY OUR MATCHES?

The season will be 9 weeks of round robin play leading up until the playoffs.  The top performers from the round robin group stage will be invited to compete in a single-elimination bracket playoff.  As less teams remain in the playoffs, this will lead into the championship.  Championships will be single elimination as well with final matches to determine winners for each title.

SIGNING UP/REGISTRATION

Signing Up

  • The first step to getting registered for NJCAAE Fall 2021 Tournament is signing up for a FREE account on the Generations Esports website.

Apply to the NJCAAE Community

  • In order to access, you must join the NJCAAE community as a team. 
  • To do this, select “Communities” on the left-hand navigation and scroll through to NJCAAE community.
  • Click the “+” in the upper right corner of the community’s tab.
  • From the “select an option” dropdown, select “+ Create Team” and press continue and accept the community terms then press continue again.
  • From here you can name your team (must contact school name) and press “Continue” which will grant you access into the NJCAAE Community!

Adding Team Members

  • From your team’s page, click the “Members” tab. 
  • Click the “+ Add Member” button to be able to generate, copy, and paste the team invitation to all members.
  • Pressing the three dots to the right of your member’s names will allow you to make them captains, add them to rosters, suspend, and delete them. 

Adding Game Connections (players only)

  • Team members must have a game connection set for each  game they are playing.
  • By selecting “Connect Games” from the left-hand navigation menu, team member’s can view, add, edit, and delete game connections.
  • To add a game connection, select “Add Game Connection” and from the popup window and select the game you wish to add & enter the screen name they use on the platform they play that game on.
  • Include the numbers in the Battlenet tag and Switch Friend Code if applicable. 

Creating Rosters

  • From your team’s page, select the “Rosters'' tab to view, create, edit, and delete rosters.
  • To create a new roster, select the “Create New” button. You can name your roster, select what game the roster is for, and click the “Add Members” button to add members. 
  • When creating single player rosters, all members playing on the same platform (xbox, ps4, switch, pc, etc) can be added to the same roster. Platform does not matter for crossplay games.
  • When creating team based rosters, please place the proper amount of members that the game requires on the roster & substitutes if applicable.
  • If you cannot add a member to a roster it is because that member does not have their game connection set to the game you are creating the roster for.

Register for a Tournament. 

  • Select "Communities" from the left-hand navigation menu, then under my communities select “Learn More” on the NJCAAE community.
  • Click on the Tournaments tab. 
  • Click on the tournament you want to register for & select “Register Now” 
  • From the drop-down, select the roster you wish to register and click “Register Now”. Congratulations! Your roster is tournament ready. 

MATCH PAGE INFO

Match Page Information

  • You can find your match page in the “Today’s Play Times” section of your dashboard.
  • All players can view their opponents screen names (gamertags), report their scores, and utilize the match chat on the match page.
  • Each team will be designated as either “home” or “away” and it is up to the “home” team to create a custom/private match.
  • After the match is complete, the winner of the match will report the score in the “reporting scores” section.

Contacting Your Opponent

  • All players need to utilize the Match Chat feature on the match page to communicate with their opponent. 
  • Once you are matched with your opponent, you will be able to contact them directly through the match chat.

Reporting Scores / Forfeits

  • To report scores or forfeits, click on the match from your dashboard and scroll to the section called, “Report Match Score”. 
  • You can insert the scores in this section by counting every win/game as 1 point. If the match was forfeited, click the “win by forfeit” box under the winning team’s name. 

Reporting Rule Breaks Or Toxic Behavior

  • Please report any rule violations or toxic behavior to our support staff as soon as it happens by submitting a ticket here.
