NASEF tournaments are hosted on the Generation Esports platform. NASEF has ensured that two games each season will be available at zero cost to schools or students. For Fall 2021, those titles are Rocket League and 10-Minute Chess (chess.com), both are presented by NASEF.

Follow the steps below to get started! In addition, clubs can now opt-in to HSEL events and take part in the many tournaments offered by HSEL if they choose.

Generation Esports has an entire team dedicated to helping you successfully register and manage your teams within their platform. Reach out to them with any questions through success@highschoolesportsleague.com.

  • Anyone with a NASEF account prior to August 16th, 2021 will have had their NASEF account, club, and team members migrated over to the Generation Esports platform and can skip to "Game Connections".
  • Using your NASEF login information, create a school official account for either High School or Middle School.

Add Game Connections (Students)

  • Click “Connect Games” on the left-hand menu.
  • Click “Add Game Connection”, select the game, enter your screen name for that game, and save.
  • Include the numbers in the Battlenet tag and Switch Friend Code if applicable.
  • Remember that NASEF is presenting Rocket League and Chess, so your participation in those events is free. You can choose to enter other events presented by HSEL as well.
  • Adding a game connection allows your team administrator to sort you into the appropriate roster.

Adding Team Members (Admins)

If you are a General Manager, you are considered the admin on the Generation Esports platform. Your account should have been automatically added to the HSEL+NASEF community, as well as all your team rosters.

If you need to add more members, here is how to do it:

  • Click “Teams” on the left-hand navigation.
  • Click “Members” on your team page.
  • Click “+ Add Member” and generate a link for team invitations.
  • Members will be added once they sign up through the link.

If you need to manage or delete members (for example, seniors that graduated last year), here is how to do it:

  • Click “Teams” on the left-hand navigation.
  • Click “Members” on your team page.
  • Pressing the three dots to the right of your member’s names will allow you to make them captains, add them to rosters, suspend, or delete.

Creating Rosters (Admins/Captains)

Each team can have several rosters of players for different titles, plus members who may not compete at all! This will allow you to easily determine which team members will compete in each season as some players may play in the Fall but not the Spring.

To create a roster:

  • Click “Rosters” on your team page.
  • Click “Create New”, name your roster, and select what game it is for.
  • Click “Add Members” and select what team members you want on the roster.
  • Team members must have a game connection set for the appropriate game in order to be added to that game's roster.

Tournament Registration (Admins/Captains)

  • Select "Communities" from the left-hand menu, then under "My Communities" select “Learn More” on the HSEL + NASEF community.
  • Click on the Tournaments tab.
  • Select the tournament you want to register for & select “Register Now”
  • From the drop-down, select the roster you wish to register and click “Register Now”. Congratulations! Your roster is tournament-ready.
