Contacting an Admin/Filing a Match Dispute

With Support and Tournament Administrators spending less time monitoring Discord, players and teams are requested to follow the listed methods of contact for issues they experience during the tournament.

Overall Spectator Rule Update

  • In tournaments where teams are permitted to have a spectator in their lobby for the purpose of streaming the game, a rule update has been implemented to prohibit the use of the new Generation Esports Wizard streaming service. All spectator streams will still be required to be broadcast on the School’s Twitch or Youtube channel. 

 

CS:GO

  • Map Pool has been updated to remove Dust 2 and add Anubis
  • Jumpthrow binds
    • Jumpthrow binds will now be permitted for use in official tournament matches.

    • Information on the Playoff Qualification and Unplayed Match rules as well as Playoff Tiebreaker Qualification have been added to section 3. Please read through the rules for more information.

Minecraft

  • Expanded Tournament Rule Information
    • Information on the Playoff Qualification and Unplayed Match rules as well as Playoff Tiebreaker Qualification have been added to section 3. Please read through the rules for more information.
  • Public Accusation Rule
    • Publicly accusing a player or team of violating the rules will not be tolerated. If you suspect another player or team has committed a rule violation, please file a match dispute as soon as possible so HSEL Administration can open an investigation.
  • Game Interference Rules
    • Due to the multiple reports in past tournaments regarding players intentionally delaying games, holding servers hostage and reaching areas of the map with glitches and exploits. Two new rules have been added onto the Minecraft Rules, to hopefully lessen the experience with these incidents going forward. 
  • Delay of Game
    • Players who intentionally delay the games end may face disciplinary action including removal from the tournament. Instances of Delay of Game for the tournament include any scenario that would prevent the match from finishing in a timely fashion. This includes but is not limited to:
    • Players refusing to fight one another in a final 2 scenario
    • Players who attempt to hold the server hostage until all other players quit. 
    • If you witness attempts to delay a game or hold the server hostage, please reach out to an HSEL Administrator immediately.  
  • Out of Bounds Access
    • Accessing areas on the map that are not accessible by normal means by using a glitch or exploit is prohibited in official matches. Players caught accessing “Out of Bounds” areas of the map risk being removed from the tournament and other disciplinary actions. 

Rainbow Six Siege

  • Expanded Tournament Rule Information

  • Changes to Rule 4.3. Operator Skins and Headgear
    • All character uniforms/skins are banned except for:
      - default uniforms
      - all pro league uniforms
      - all R6 share uniforms
      The use of skins must be called out as soon as it is recognized, and the round reset promptly. If any issues arise concerning the use of skins/headgear or the resetting of a map, please contact an HSEL Administrator.
    • *Violations of Rule 4.3. that are called out or reported after a match has been scored will not result in a map reset or rematch.
  • Best of 1 Map Pick Bans
    • Teams will pick/ban in the following format:
    • Team 1 bans a map
    • Team 2 bans a map
    • Team 1 bans a map
    • Team 2 bans a map
    • Team 1 bans a map
    • Team 2 bans a map
    • Team 1 bans a map
    • Team 2 bans a map
    • The remaining map will be played
  • Best of 3 Map Pick/Bans
  • Teams will pick/ban in the following format:
    • Team 1 bans a map
    • Team 2 bans a map
    • Team 1 picks the first map
    • Team 2 picks their starting side on the first map
    • Team 2 picks the second map
    • Team 1 picks their starting side on the second map
    • Team 1 bans a map
    • Team 2 bans a map
    • Team 1 will pick between the three remaining maps with starting side determined by default side selection settings
  • Ping Test for Server Selection
  • If both teams cannot agree on a server, a ping test will be used to determine which server will provide the most balanced ping. 
    • Both teams will select their specific servers. 
      • Starting with the Home team’s choice a test game will be launched so that teams may grab screenshots of their ping once round 1 has started. 
      • The same step will then be repeated with the away team’s server of choice. 
    • After both servers have been tested, the teams will compare the ping results and the server that provides the more balanced ping difference will be the server used for the match series. 
    • If any issues or disagreements arise, the home team must contact an HSEL Administrator. 
    • Refusal to abide by the ping test rule can result in a match forfeit being issued by HSEL Administrators. 
  • New and Reworked Operators
    • The use of New or Reworked Operators released during the season will be prohibited from use in official matches for the remainder of the season. A reworked operator is defined as an Operator having 50% or more of their kit change that directly impacts game play, for example the Tachanka rework. Normal gameplay patches (buffs/nerfs) are not considered to be reworks. 
  • New Platforms for tournament play
    • Playstation and Xbox consoles are now enabled for crossplay in their own tournament -- separate from the PC tournament. 

Valorant

  • Server Selection Ping Test
    • If both teams do not agree on a server region to use for their match, the lobby host will go through the available servers in the lobby. Both teams will compare their ping on each server and play on the one that offers the most balanced ping between each team.
    • If the teams disagree on which server provides the most balanced ping, please reach out to an HSEL Admin for assistance. 
  • Best of 3 Map Pick/Ban
    • The home team bans a map
    • The away team bans a map
    • The home team selects the game for game 1
    • The away team selects their side for game 1
    • The away team selects the map for game 2
    • The home team selects their side for game 2
    • The home team bans a map
    • The away teams bans a map
    • The remaining map will be used for game 3, with determined sides by default side selection. 
  • Map Pool

  • Coach’s Slot
    • Coaches are permitted to be in the coach’s slot during official matches with a limit of 1 coach per team. While the game is live, coaches may not have any sort of communication with players or the other team, nor may they call for timeouts or gameplay pauses. Coaches are prohibited from streaming while they are in the coach’s slot, any match streaming must be in line with Rule 3.2.1. as stated above. 
    • If players or coaches notice or suspect misconduct from someone in the coaches slot, please contact an HSEL Administrator immediately.

    • Rules surrounding the use of the spectator slot in Rocket League official matches has been updated. Please see the Rocket League-specific rules for more information.

Chess

  • Spectators
    • Spectators are permitted in game lobbies for the sole purpose of streaming their team’s match to the School’s Twitch or Youtube channel or to record the match. Spectators may not have any communication with team members while the game is currently being played and must not be a member of the roster participating in the match. At the end of the match, the stream vod or an unedited copy of the recording must be shared with the other team

Halo Infinite

League of Legends

  • State Tournament
    • League of Legends will be held as a State tournament. Participating schools who are in a State with less than 16 participating teams will be placed in the Youth Winner’s Circle League of Legends tournament.
