2021 Fall Major Patch Notes

 

General Tournament Rules

  • Updates to the Spectator Rule have been made
    • Coaches are now permitted to be in the spectator slot if they are the one streaming the match to their School’s Twitch or Youtube channel. 
    • Specific spectator rules have been added to the rule page for each game. 
  • Playoff Qualification: 
    • Teams must compete in 75% of their Regular Season matches in order to qualify for the playoffs
      • For the Fall Major, teams will be required to have played 6 of their 8 matches in order to qualify. 
  • Unplayed Matches: Matches that go unplayed during the regular season will now be treated as a shutout loss, reflecting against the team’s MMR at the end of the regular season. 
  • Updated Tie Breaker System: Our playoff seeding has received a large update to help us better determine which teams will move on to the playoffs. For full details please refer to Section 2.11.7.1 of the General Rules. 
  • Lower Queue Times: Queue times for the Fall Major and future tournaments have been reduced from 15 minutes to 5 minutes.

  • Map Pool Update: The Map Pool has been updated to be in line with the OWL Summer Showdown

  • Crossplay: Cross play is now available in Overwatch. Rosters may now consist of both console and PC players. 
  • Aim Assist: Console Aim Assist will automatically be disabled if the match is hosted in a PC Lobby. A lobby is considered a PC lobby if it has one or more PC players in it, this will also include the spectator slots. This is a game feature and is not something that can be enabled or disabled manually. 
  • Spectator Rule: Spectators are permitted in game lobbies for the sole purpose of streaming their school team’s match to the School’s Twitch or Youtube channel. Spectators may not have any communication with team members while the game is currently being played and must not be a member of the roster participating in the match. All spectator streams must be from the player point of view, or a 3rd person chase cam. The use of the skybox camera, director camera, or the point of view of another team’s player is prohibited. At the end of the match, the stream vod must be shared with the other team

Call of Duty: Cold War 4v4

  • Map Pool Update: The Hardpoint and Search and Destroy game modes have had their map pools updated.

  • Spectator Rule: Spectators are permitted in game lobbies for the sole purpose of streaming their school team’s match to the School’s Twitch or Youtube channel. Spectators may not have any communication with team members while the game is currently being played and must not be a member of the roster participating in the match. All spectator streams must use CoD Caster and be from the point of view of a player on their team. The use of the skybox camera, director camera, or the point of view of another team’s player is prohibited. At the end of the match, the stream vod must be shared with the other team

Rocket League

  • Spectator Rule: Spectators are permitted in game lobbies for the sole purpose of streaming their school team’s match to the School’s Twitch or Youtube channel. Spectators may not have any communication with team members while the game is currently being played and must not be a member of a roster participating in the match. The use of all cameras is permitted during the match. At the end of the match, the stream vod must be shared with the other team.

Hearthstone

  • Spectator Rule: Spectators are permitted in game lobbies for the sole purpose of streaming their school team’s match to the School’s Twitch or Youtube channel. Spectators may not have any communication with team members while the game is currently being played. At the end of the match, the stream vod must be shared with the other team.

Rainbow 6 Siege

  • Spectator Rule: Spectators are permitted in game lobbies for the sole purpose of streaming their school team’s match to the School’s Twitch or Youtube channel. Spectators may not have any communication with team members while the game is currently being played and must not be a member of the roster participating in the match. All spectator streams must be from the player point of view, or a 3rd person chase cam. The use of the skybox camera, director camera, or the point of view of another team’s player is prohibited. At the end of the match, the stream vod must be shared with the other team.

Valorant

  • Map Pool: The Valorant Map Pool has been updated for the Fall Major. 
    • Icebox
    • Ascent
    • Bind
    • Split
