Kings of the Court NBA 2K22 Challenge

1. Anti-Cheat

No additional anti-cheat is required for official matches.

1.1. Live Event Covid Procedures           

As required by the City of New Orleans for entry into our venues for events, all ticketholders age 5 and above, staff, vendors and participants must provide evidence of 1) a negative COVID-19 PCR or antigen test taken no more than 72 hours prior to entering the event or 2) having received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine.

Prior to entry, each person may present their verified digital proof of vaccination (LA Wallet or other official government sanctioned app) or an original, digital photograph or photocopy (both sides) of their CDC vaccination card. They may also present an official vaccination record issued by another state, foreign nation of the WHO. In lieu of vaccination, you may also present a negative PCR or antigen test result that has been taken within the last 72 hours.


2. Match Procedure

Supported Platforms

  • PS4
  • XB1

*Students may participate using their PS5 or XBSX as long as they play on the PS4 or XB1 version of the game. 

2.1. Series Lengths

Matches are played as a best of 3 series.

2.2. Game Lobby

Prior to the match, players should add each other as friends on their Consoles. The home team will create the lobby.

The following settings are to be used in official matches:

  • Connection: Play With Friends
  • Game Mode: Private Match
  • Game Style: Hall of Fame
  • Quarter Length: 5 Minutes

2.3. Mirror Matches

Both players may choose the same team to play in official matches. 

2.4. Live Finals Match Procedures

During the Kings of the Court Finals, a coin toss will be held between both players to determine which team they will play. The winner of the coin toss will choose between the Mavericks and the Pelicans, the loser of the coin toss will play the unselected team. 


3. Restrictions

3.1. Pausing the game

Players may not at any point use the pause feature during game play. Each team is afforded a certain number of times outs during the match.

3.2 All-Time Teams/All-Star Teams/History Teams/Custom Teams

Only current teams may be used in official matches. The use of custom teams, all-star teams, all-time teams, and history teams is prohibited.


4. Stoppage of Play

4.1 Disconnection

A match can be reset if a player disconnects from a match as long as the following criteria are met.

  • The disconnection happens in the first 3 minutes of the First Quarter
  • The score difference is 15 or less
  • The player has not disconnected previously during the match

Any other Disconnections or multiple disconnections will count as a game loss for the disconnected player. After the disconnection, the match will continue with the next game in the series, if there are any left to play. If a player is unable to connect to the game lobby for future matches, they will forfeit the remainder of the series to their opponent. 


5. Team Rosters

All players must be a resident of the State of Louisiana in order to participate in the Kings of the Court Challenge. Kings of the Court rosters are limited to 1 player per roster. Rosters that exceed the 1 player maximum will be unable to participate in official matches. No substitutions may be made at any time.
